ROPE RESCUE
Rope I - 16 Hours
Low-Angle Rope Rescue
Low angle rope rescue is the first class in the rope rescue series. On day one, the morning classroom session teaches rope care, knots, lowering systems, mechanical advantage systems, and patient packaging. The afternoon session provides an opportunity to apply what was learned in the classroom through guided practice. The second day provides additional skill development in the morning and scenario work in the afternoon.
Rope II - 16 Hours
The High Angle Rescue Environment
Step two of the rope rescue series is moving from low angle rescues to the high angle environment. The first day is spent reviewing skills from ROPE I and building on them to move into the high angle environment. New skills to be learned include rappelling, litter rigging, patient packaging, and line transfers. The remaining time is spent utilizing the skills learned through both guided practice and scenario work.
