WATER RESCUE
Still Water Rescue - 8 to 12 Hours
This class teaches the techniques needed to assist injured and non-injured people in a non-moving water environment. A short classroom session deals with rescuer safety, proper equipment, and patient handling in the water. A pool session gives the participants an opportunity to work with skills needed to accomplish water-related assists and rescues in a controlled setting. The class is completed with work in open water.
Swift Water Rescue - 16 Hours
The first day is spent in the classroom learning response planning, pre-planning, team development, moving water dynamics, medical considerations, and techniques and equipment used in shore-based rescue. Day two begins in the pool with time for skill evaluation and practice in a controlled environment. The class ends with hands on work at a moving water site. This class meets the standards for NFPA 1670 Awareness and NASAR Swift Water First Responder.
Line Systems For Water Rescue - 8 to 12 Hours
This class begins with a brief land session to develop the necessary skills to build the various line systems that will be used in the practical session of the training. The majority of the time will be spent at a moving water site building and operating the line systems for ZIP LINE, DYNAMIC FERRY, and MOVEABLE CONTROL POINT.
Boat Rescue In Moving Water - 16 Hours
A short classroom session discusses types of craft available for rescue work and recommended equipment for outfitting these crafts. The hands-on session will teach handling techniques in moving water and how to utilize the dynamics of water to your advantage. This course is equipment-intensive and prior boat-handling experience is strongly recommended.
